If you’re single and meeting new people or in the early stages of a relationship, physical distancing and staying safe doesn’t mean you can’t continue to connect and get to know each other.

Here are some ideas from members of the Love is Louder community on creative ways to connect while we’re staying home.
Virtual Dinner Dates:
Some members of our community are eating with friends, family or potential partners almost every night via Zoom or FaceTime. Make it an even more collaborative experience by picking a recipe to cook together…separately. FaceTime or Zoom while you’re cooking and then set a place for your phone or laptop.
“Travel” Together:
People are getting creative and finding ways to transport to new locations while staying at home. Set a dinner date and select any location in the world that you’d like to “visit.” For example, pick a romantic evening in Paris. Find a French recipe that you can both cook and enjoy together, and then watch a TV show or film set in that location together. Wear clothes or costumes that reflect the destination and immerse yourself in a new or exotic location for a night!
Watch Movies Together:
Use apps like Netflix Party or Twoseven to watch a movie or show with a date or friends. Plan ahead and order our friend or romantic interest some microwave popcorn and their favorite beverage to be delivered (safely) from Amazon or a local business.
Start a Book Club:
You don’t have to be face-to-face to get to know someone better. Reading and discussing books together is a great way to learn more about someone’s personality, perspective and experiences. Take turns picking books or look for advice from places like Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club.
